Brilliantly designed by Richard Foxton, The Ladykillers set for The New Wolsey Theatre in Ipswich was a great set to build. The brief, a subsiding house on a revolve with multiple gags built in.

The design with cracked, slumping walls and rooflines was a great exercise in building something fluid, natural and ultimately challenging. With the house being seen in all its ageing beauty from the exterior and also from inside a lot of flats were finished on all sides. The Ronald Searle esque wallpaper designs were a particular nice touch.
