So, here we go, our first blog post. It has been a difficult year for the theatre industry, and the rest of the UK for that matter, but we all know this. However, what you may not know is that we are now starting to slowly open our workshop again and we are ramping up production.
New CNC Machine
Earlier this month we received delivery of our brand-new CNC machine, direct from the Homag factory in Germany. Leaps and bounds superior to our old machine the Homag will be able to make our CNC capabilities much more comprehensive and accurate. We decided to stick to a 10’x5’ bed, as before, for those unique jobs that need just a little bit more space. The Splinter team have now been fully trained by the Homag engineers and we are ready to start cutting.
Do you have a project that needs cutting?
More and more protective measures are being installed in retail outlets, food establishments and next (hopefully) theatres. With a wide variety of scenarios, one type of protective screen design will not suit every venue’s needs. Therefore, a more bespoke design will be required.
We are at hand for anyone in or outside of the entertainment industry to help you prepare for any Covid-19 measures you may need for your venue.
Not Just Theatre
Although we specialise in touring theatrical scenery, we have built items for a wide variety of purposes including:
- TV/Film sets;
- Music festivals;
- Art gallery installations;
- Conference exhibition stands;
- Promotional props;
- Plus many more…
Therefore, if you know anyone who is looking to bring a concept to life at this difficult time don’t hesitate to get in touch and we will see what we can do!
All the best until the next blog/newsletter.
